Tahitian Wedding Celebrations

The Wedding Chapel of Your Dreams

Begin your honeymoon in Tahiti by celebrating your marriage together in the traditional Polynesian style. It could be a wedding, a renewal of personal vows,  or your anniversary. A traditional Polynesian ceremony is a delightful, memorable a dream come true. Each of Tahitian resorts ceremonies featured below has its unique flavor, ranging from simple to extravagantly lavish. Its up to you to choose the one that best fits your dreams.

Please note!  Tahitian ceremonies are not legal weddings in the United States. However couples can marry legally at home and then exchange vows at one of these celebrations. If you are adamant about legally tying the knot in Tahiti, you or your future spouse must prove residency in French Polynesia for at least one month prior to the wedding date. This will entail obtaining a visa for a longer than thirty day stay.

The non-binding ceremony takes place on sacred grounds overlooking a beautiful lagoon. Please visit their website for more information www.tikivillage.pf

Once the couple arrives at the Tiki Village, the bride to be is taken to a traditional Tahitian bamboo hut. The women of the village then prepare her for the ceremony by massaging her with Tahitian Monoi oils and dress her in authentic Tahitian clothing.

The groom to be is taken by canoe to a nearby beach where he is tattooed (in felt tip pen) and then dressed as a High Chief. He is then returned to the village where his bride welcomes him. The couple is then decorated with an abundance of gorgeous flower leis.

The couple can be married in traditional wedding attire if they choose.

The ceremony is conducted in the Tahitian Language and there is an interpreter on hand to provide translation to guests. During the ceremony, the women of the village sing beautiful melodic tunes for the audience.

Once the ceremony is completed, champagne is served to the guests and the villagers entertain everyone with a wonderful dance show.
